One in hospital after crash into pole in Champaign County

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — UPDATE @ 6:30 a.m.:

One person was taken to Mercy Memorial Hospital after a crash that damaged an electric pole and a transformer late Sunday, according to dispatch records. 

Records said that the pole needed to be replaced and that the transformer was damaged in the crash. 

Dispatchers had no information on the condition of the crash victim. 

INITIAL REPORT (Dec. 8)

Emergency crews are arriving on scene of a vehicle that has reportedly crashed into a pole at state Route 29 and Concord, according to dispatch records.

Initial reports indicate a transformer may have been damaged in the process.
