Man rushed to hospital after being assaulted inside flat close in Glasgow

Emergency services swooped the scene at Hawthorn Street during the early hours of Monday morning.

A man has been rushed to hospital after an assault inside the close of a block of Glasgow flats.

Emergency services rushed to Hawthorn Street, in the Springburn area of the city, after reports that a man had been found injured in the close at around 5.30am on Monday.

A 35-year-old was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and remains in a stable condition.

Police say they have now established that the man was assaulted.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are continuing.”
