WMPD: Employees find drugs, card scanner while cleaning West Monroe hotel

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - West Monroe police arrested two people Sunday after getting a call about suspicious activity at the Comfort Inn on Constitution Drive.

Officers say employees found drugs and guns while cleaning a hotel room where Dominick Smith and Londy Reyes were staying.

Upon a subsequent search of the room, West Monroe police say they found meth, a digital scale, and a business card scanner. They say the card scanner was found next to a ledger containing credit card numbers and personal information belonging to other people.

Police say Smith and Reyes were away from the hotel during the search but were identified by staff members upon their return.

Smith and Reyes were both booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on anti-skimming charges and possession of meth.

According to arrest records, Reyes has a Houston area address and Smith is listed as being from Ohio.
