Man arrested after woman seriously injured in Newton Mearns house as cops probe 'disturbance'

Police swooped on a house in Castle Road at around 10pm on Sunday, following reports of a 'disturbance' inside a house.
A 41-year-old woman was rushed to hospital for serious injuries.
Medics say her injuries are not believed to be 'life-threatening'.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police officers were still on the scene this morning.
A spokesman from the force told the Record: "We can confirm that a 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a disturbance within a house on Castle Road in Newton Mearns.
"The incident was reported shortly after 10.05pm on Sunday, December 8.
"A 41-year-old woman suffered serious injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.
"Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
"The incident was contained to within the property and there was no wider risk to the public.
"Inquiries are ongoing."
