Shocking moment woman grabs a reveller by her hair and slams her backwards onto the street during furious row outside cocktail bar

• A woman in a white dress grabs the other by her hair and slams her to the ground

Disturbing footage shows the moment a woman is grabbed by the hair and slammed into the ground with a thud in a brutal assault by another woman on a night out.

The incident took place on Saturday night in Northampton during an altercation between a group of women outside a cocktail bar on Gold Street.

What begins as an argument between three women soon turns physical after a woman in a printed dress attempts to grab at another in a striped jumpsuit as she walks away.  

Before she can make contact however, she is seized by a third woman in high heels and a white dress.

She grabs her hair, wrenches the woman backwards off the pavement and sends her flying into the road.

There is an audible thud as her head bounces off the tarmac and witnesses can be heard wincing in the background. 

The woman clambers to her feet and the camera then pans back to the woman in white, who throws a disgusted look over her shoulder.

As the clip ends, the woman is seen hobbling out of the road as a stunned passerby looks on.

The dramatic scene was caught on camera by Northampton local Kelsey Bowen. 

Kelsey was on her way to a club with her friend when the woman in white asked the girls to hold her belongings.

Believing that something was going to 'pop off' Kelsey began to film the group.

Kelsey wrote in the comments: 'The lady asks my friend to hold her hand bag and looked angry as f*** so I knew something was about to pop off real soon.'

She says she began recording when she realised that something was going to happen and managed to catch the vicious assault.

Kelsey decided to share the clip on social media, where it has since clocked up more than 347,000 views.

She tweeted the footage with the caption: 'Welcome to Northampton.'

The video has shocked social media users. Samantha Marshall wrote: 'This is disgusting.'

@CASEY1307000 added: 'This is actually so mad isn't it.'

Iain Hobbs replied: 'One classy lass.'

And Patrick Fox said: 'What a vile woman. She should be ashamed of herself.'

Northamptonshire Police have been contacted for comment.
