MPD: Police investigating shooting on Dick Taylor Street
by KNOEMONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Monroe Police Department says they are investigating a shooting in Monroe.
It happened Monday morning on Dick Taylor Street around the 3100 block of Dick Taylor.
Police say the victim was shot in the upper torso area.
Monroe police have only identified the victim as a black male. His condition was not released.
Officers were on the scene for over an hour and had the area blocked off for some time. Officers left the scene sometime before noon.
Police have not released any further details about the shooting. Detectives are continuing to investigate.

Dick Taylor Street is in south Monroe a few blocks from the Ouachita River.
