Oman weather: Tropical depression deepens

Muscat: The National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre has indicated that a tropical depression located over the south western Arabian Sea on Sunday December 8, 2019 is deepening.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) said: “The tropical depression located in the southwest of the Arabian Sea has developed into to a deep tropical depression with wind speeds around the center estimated between 28-33 knots and moving towards the west, northwest without any direct effects on the coasts of the Sultanate.”
