For many, it must be appalling, even more, repulsive that South African born, Zozibini Tunzi, is currently the reigning Miss Universe.‘ Why?’

Since time immemorial, being light-skinned and having straight long hair has been the archetype of what beauty is,. Consequently, many enterprises have profiteered from the misconstrued belief and thus, pumping the African markets with skin lightening and hair straightening products to reinforce the stereotype of beauty.  Blame this on colonisation. but that is a conversation for another day.

So it wouldn’t seem bonkers to be surprised how the South African black beauty, who, rocking her short kinky hair, clenched the crown at the worlds largest pageant show.

This was even echoed in her speech made at the Tyler Perry  Studios, Georgia, America, where the Pageant was held.
