4 held for ‘pusoy’ in Candon

CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur- Police arrested yesterday four persons who were caught in the act engaging in illegal gambling in Bgy. Calongbuyan, Candon City.

The suspects were identified by the police as Marjorie Ganad, 34, married, unemployed; Carisa Gadingan, 27, single, unemployed; Arnilita Garcia, 36, single, vendor and Domingo Acurin y Gadingan, 42, single, laborer, all residents of Bgy. Calongbuyan.

“Elements of Candon CPS conducted anti-illegal gambling operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects who were caught in the act of playing cards (pusoy dos),” said the police report.

Confiscated by the police from them were one set of plastic playing cards and bet money amounting to P443 in different denominations.

In Vigan city, police reported that Constante Rara, 77, married, stall owner at Vigan Public Market a resident of Bgy. Pangada, Sta. Catalina, was victimized by a Salisi gang member.

Police said Rebecca Retreta aka “Solang” and a resident of Sitio Namnama, Brgy Tamorong, Sta Catalina town, proved that she was faster as she was able to cart away the victim’s bag.

Based on police report, Raras together with the saleslady Sonia Gamilde reported to Vigan PNP that theft transpired at the stall of the victim.

Police disclosed that the victim left his black bag containing a Samsung CP, notebook and money amounting to MOL P20,000 at his chair outside his stall. When the said saleslady saw the suspect arrive. Suddenly she grabbed the bag and ran away.
