FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The penalty phase in the trial of Mark Sievers will start Tuesday.

The jury who convicted him of first degree murder last week will meet again to decide his punishment: life in prison without parole, or the death penalty.

For Sievers to be sentenced to death, all 12 jurors have to unanimously agree.

Sievers was convicted of orchestrating the murder of his wife, Dr. Teresa Sievers, back in 2015.

One of Sievers' conspirators, Jimmy Rodgers, will also be sentenced this week. He was convicted of second-degree murder in the case.

He will be sentenced on Thursday.
