Vivo V17 is the latest V-series phone to debut in India after the Vivo V17 Pro that had gone official in October. Priced at Rs. 22,990, the Vivo V17 smartphone comes with some exciting features like punch-hole display, quad rear cameras and a large-sized battery with fast charging support. Last month, the Vivo had launched the Vivo V17 smartphone in Russia. The Indian edition differs from the Russia model in terms of design and specs.
Vivo V17 Specifications and Features
The Vivo V17 measures 159.03 x 74.17 x 8.54mm and weighs 176 grams. Unlike the Vivo V17 Pro that features a notch-less display and a pop-up selfie camera setup, the V17 that belongs to the same series has a display that sports a different design. The rear shell of the phone has a glossy finish.
The Vivo V17 has a 6.44-inch punch-hole display which is dubbed as iView Display by the Chinese firm. The E3 Super AMOLED display offers 1080 x 2400 pixels full HD+ resolution, a tall aspect ratio of 20:9 and carries support for DCI-P3 color gamut. The smartphone delivers a screen-to-body ratio of 91.38 percent. The display can effectively filter out 42 percent of blue light. The marvelous display of the Vivo V17 is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader.
The Snapdragon 675 mobile platform that fuels the Vivo V17 Pro is also the driving force of the Vivo V17. The SoC is coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The native storage available on the device is 128 GB. The Vivo V17 has a microSD card slot for more storage. The Android 9 Pie OS that is skinned with the latest FunTouch OS 9.2 UI runs on the V17.

The Vivo V17 has a front-facing camera of 32-megapixel with f/2.45 aperture. On its back is a rectangular camera module that includes four cameras and an LED flash. It has a primary lens of 48-megapixel with f/1.8 aperture, a 120-degree 8-megapixel lens, a 2-megapixel portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture and 4cm focal length support and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Vivo has included support for Super Night Mode for the front-facing as well as rear-mounted cameras. The front camera of the Vivo V17 supports other features like AR stickers, Pose Master, AI Makeup, AI HDR and more. The rear cameras come with features like Super EIS, super macro, portrait framing, slow-motion video shooting, AR stickers, Pose Master, AI Makeup, AI HDR and more.
The device is backed by a 4,500mAh battery that comes with support for 9V/2A dual-engine fast charging through USB-C. There is support for Multi-Turbo that enhances the overall user experience on the Vivo V17. With Game Center, users of Vivo V17 can take advantage of its gaming arena. For gamers, the Vivo V17 also offer other features like Ultra Game Mode, Voice Changer and Off-Screen Autoplay. The connectivity features available on the Vivo V17 include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack.
Vivo V17 Pricing and Availability
The Vivo V17 has landed in India in two colors like Midnight Ocean and Glacier Ice. The phone comes in 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage option only and it is priced at Rs. 22,990 (~$323). The sales of the phone will begin on Dec. 17 through Vivo’s online store, popular e-commerce sites and offline stores. The retail box package of the phone includes Vivo XE710 earphones that is generally priced at Rs. 1,999 (~$28).
