ATOM Hotels Socimi expands its portfolio

Hotel chain incorporates its first hotel in Galicia with the acquisition of the hotel Tryp Coruna, operated by Grupo Hotusa, under the EXE brand.

MADRID - The REIT ATOM Hotels Socimi, incorporated in January 2018 by Bankinter and GMA, has confirmed the acquisition of the hotel Tryp Coruna formally owned by one Melia Hotels International Group’s companies, The four-star hotel is located in the historic center of La Coruna and offers 181 rooms. The acquisition represents 12.9 million euros.

A new lease agreement has been signed with the Hotusa Group, which will operate the hotel under the EXE brand.

GMA, ATOM manager, has led the rebranding alongside Grupo Hotusa both in terms of design and renovation, as the hotel will be operating under the EXE brand.

Following the purchase of this new hotel, ATOM Hotels reinforces its segment in urban assets, with 12 urban hotels out of 24 assets in total. With this acquisition, ATOM has carried out its first operation in Galicia. Indeed, ATOM keeps on investing while diversifying. The fund had previously incorporated hotels with Hotusa such as Eurostars Las Salinas (Fuerteventura) and Eurostars Rey Dona Jaime, (Valencia) and reinforces its partnership with the brand.

The ATOM Hotels REIT is an alternative investment vehicle specialized in the hotel sector, which Bankinter incorporated in January 2018 alongside the real estate asset manager GMA HCI. To this day, following its two latest capital increases the fund has attracted over 700 shareholders. Its investment strategy focuses on investing in four and five-star hotels and resorts, in prime locations, leased to national first-tier operators and independent international hoteliers. Resulting from this latest acquisition, its portfolio ?s value reaches over 560 million euros and consists of 24 assets, totalling 5807 rooms.
