
Man, armed with knife, barricades himself in residence
The incident happened Thursday night on Cedarbrae Avenue in Waterloo

Police were called to a residence on Cedarbrae Avenue just before 7 p.m.
They allege a man, armed with a knife, caused damage to property and uttered death threats.
He then barricaded himself in his residence.
Members of the Emergency Response unit with Waterloo Regional Police assisted patrol officers in negotiating a peaceful surrender of the suspect.
A 22-year-old Waterloo man is facing charges including assault with a weapon, uttering threats, as well as mischief to property.
No name has been released and he is due to appear in court on Friday.
