MP's Brother Stabbed to Death

Buema Village in Bungoma County on Friday, November 29, woke up to shocking news that the brother to Kanduyi Constituency MP Athanas Misiko Wafula Wamunyinyi was brutally murdered.

Citizen Digital was first to report that Joseph Wamalwa Wekesa was alleged to have been stabbed several times on the chest by his nephew.

30-year-old Nicholas Simiyu Wafula is said to have attacked his uncle after an argument arose as they prepared for the death anniversary of the MP's father who died in 2018.

Bungoma South OCS George Odongo confirmed the incident, revealing that the deceased had also injured the suspect with a machete on the head and right-hand thumb.

“They were preparing for a memorial anniversary for Mathew Austin Wafula Wamunyinyi (the MP's Father), which was to take place to at Buema Village, Tuuti Sub-location before a fight ensued,” reported Odongo.

After the machete attack the, Wafula allegedly flew into a rage, rushed to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and followed the deceased to his house.

Apart from stabbing his uncle several times on the chest, Wafula reportedly killed two dogs and broke window panes in his late uncle's house.

Wekesa succumbed to his injuries at around 5 am while undergoing treatment at Bungoma West Hospital while the suspect was admitted to Dawameds Hospital in a stable condition.

The body was later transferred to Life Care Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
