Officers were dispatched to the Walker Road just after 9am to reports that a Toyota Yaris had been driven into a lamppost.

The occupants of the vehicle, including a male driver, fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle before police arrived.

Officers erected a cordon on the corner of Walker Road and Belmont Street surrounding the car involved.
