Shocked to hear about rape, murder of Telangana doctor, says Rahul Gandhi
Evidence gathered from the crime scene suggests rape, but that has not been confirmed yet as the body is completely charred, sources in the police told India Today.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi commenting on Telangana doctor's murder said on Friday that he was shocked to hear about the incident.
A charred body of the 26-year-old woman was found under a culvert near Hyderabad on Thursday, a day after she went missing.
Rahul Gandhi said that he was shocked to hear about the brutal rape and murder of the woman. "How anyone could subject another human being to so much terrible, unprovoked violence is beyond imagination. My thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family at this time of immense grief," Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter.
Spiritual leader Sadhguru also took to Twitter and wrote, "These horrendous things continue to happen just because of one's gender. Definitely law enforcement and response time have to improve but above all, social mindset about women has to evolve beyond these inhuman ways."
The 26-year-old veterinarian, on her way home after visit to a clinic, was allegedly raped and burnt alive at Shadnagar.
Hours before her body was found she had told her sister she was scared.
The police were informed about a charred body found at the underpass. The police reached the spot and identified the body as the 26-year-old's with the help of her clothes.
Her family was informed.
