There's only been five artists (but 6 songs) this year!

For the uninitiated, a Perfect All Kill is when a song hits No.1 across the daily and realtime South Korean music charts.

The charts that are used to count the PAK include Melon, Genie, Bugs, Soribada, Flo realtime chart and Instiz iChart's weekly and realtime charts.

To get a PAK is to basically say that your song is the biggest thing in South Korea on release, and comparative to previous years, 2019 has been a bit slower on the Perfect All Kill scales. Only five songs have achieved Perfect All Kills, and here they are...

1. BTS ft. Halsey: "Boy With Luv"

They've taken over the world so of course they took over the charts with this release! "Boy With Luv" marked BTS' second perfect all kill, the previous being 2018's "Fake Love". BTS were also the first artists of 2019 to achieve a PAK.

2. BOL4: "Workaholic"

BOL4 are beloved in South Korea and there's no further proof than them being the second artist of 2019 to hit a PAK. Their track "Workaholic" from their mini-album Two Five, took to the top of the charts in September.

3. AKMU: "How Can I Love Heartbreak, You're The One I Love"

The sibling duo made their first comeback since Lee Chan Hyuk completed his military service, and their fans definitely missed them! The pair immediately hit No.1 with their new song released in October.

4. MC Mong: "Fame"

Hip-hop artist, actor and tv personality MC Mong hit the top of the charts with his release "Fame", when it came out in late October. The song is taken from his eighth album CHANNEL8 and features Song Ga In and Chancellor.

5. IU: "Love Poem"

On November 1, this IU track reached No.1 within two hours of its release and by November 2 had a certified all kill. That means topping all the aforementioned charts minus the weekly one.

6. IU: "Blueming"

The queen of PAKs! IU hit No.1 with the title track from her Love Poem EP on November 21.

What do you think of 2019's PAKs?
