Man suffers serious head injuries in attack outside pub

Police are appealing for information from witnesses

A man is in a "serious condition" in hospital after an assault outside a South Derbyshire pub last night.

The man, who is in his 50s, was found with head injuries outside the Navigation Inn, in London Road, Shardlow, at around 10.40pm last night, Thursday, November 28.

Officers from Swadlincote Response Team were called to help deal with the incident and the man was later taken to Royal Derby Hospital, where the remains in a "serious condition".

Derbyshire Police are now appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information that will help the investigation to come forward.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Derbyshire Police by calling 101, quoting reference number 1265 of December 28.
