Gemma Collins returns to the rink ahead of the Dancing On Ice Christmas special

She'll be making her explosive return to the ice next month

It won't be long before Gemma Collins returns to the Dancing On Ice rink for this year's Christmas special.

The star, who appeared on the show earlier this year, shared a few videos to Instagram on Thursday showing herself getting her skates back on.

Gemma, 38, told fans she wanted to capture the first moment she stepped back onto the ice after her stint on the show.

Standing on the side, Gemma said: "This is the moment you've all been waiting for. I'm getting this recorded because I have not stepped on the ice since I think March.

"So let's just see if my legs work. I'm not that nervous, I'm really excited to get back on the ice today."

She captioned the post: "Can’t believe how much I loved being back on the ice today."

In another clip, Gemma is seen on the ice skating round.

She said: "Guys, it's me the GC taking to the ice in a long time. Do you know what? I'm back, it feels gorgeous, I'm better this time than I was before.

"Oh my God, I'm warming up the legs guys. Oh my God, I feel like I'm home."

She wrote alongside the videos: "Love the ice today thank you for all your lovely comments I actually felt so confident."

Fans were thrilled to see Gemma back on the ice and expressed their excitement for the festive special.

One person said: "Can't wait for the Christmas special," while another wrote: "Go on Gemma!"

A third added: "Can't wait to see you again on the ice, loved you on the last series."

Gemma caused a stir on the show earlier this year thanks to her on-air clash with judge Jason Gardiner and falling face-first onto the ice during one of her live performances.

During the Christmas special, the star will reportedly take a leading role.

A source told The Sun: "Bosses are ready to make Gemma the star of the show again. She wants to be the showstopper for the Christmas special, and is proving to producers she is ready for it."
