Unai Emery's sack has brought about Nuno Espirito Santo being tipped to take over from the Spanish boss at the Emirates.

But the Portuguese manager has refused to comment on speculation linking him with the job after Emery was shown the door.

The Wolves manager is the number one candidate listed to succeed Emery after his impressive results at the Molineux.

Emery was shown the door after losing 2-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt at the Emirates and extended his winless run with Arsenal to seven matches.

On the other hand, Santo's side progressed into the next stage of the competition after playing a 3-3 draw with Sporting Braga.

And when asked whether he would love to become the next boss at the Emirates, Santo replied: “I think you know me well enough and you know that I’m not going to answer about that.

“I will never mention an issue that’s not a reality. Mainly because the job has a manager in it. It would be disrespectful.”

Santo's first season at the Midlands in the 2018-19 season, he qualified Wolves into the Europa League and was given a honorary degree by University of Wolverhampton.

The Portuguese gaffer signed interesting players into his side including Raul Gimenez, Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Rui Patricio and the likes.

Wolves have climbed back into the Premier League top five after having a slow start into the new season.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Granit Xhaka angered Arsenal fans after he was caught on camera smiling and laughing with Eintracht Frankfurt players shortly after their 2-1 defeat.
