Van hits pedestrian on busy Exeter road

A pedestrian was hit by a van on Topsham Road this morning, police have confirmed.

Paramedics and police were called to the incident at around 6.30am, and the man suffered a broken arm and a cut to his head.

A police spokesperson said: "This incident was reported to us at 6.30am today [29 November].

"It happened on Topsham Road, Exeter. Pedestrian in collision with a van.

"The man sustained a broken arm and a cut to his head.

"An ambulance attended. The road was not blocked."

Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix reported an incident on A379 Bridge Road, near A3015 Topsham Road, at the Countess Wear Roundabout, at around 7am.

Its alert read: "A379 Bridge Road partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident near A3015 Topsham Road ( Countess Wear Roundabout)."
