6 forgers of senior IDs nabbed in Recto

Six persons allegedly involved in producing fake senior citizens’ cards in the university belt area in Manila were arrested by police on Thursday.

Police identified them as Rizaldy Sayana, Carlo Magno, Carlito Ibarra, Chris Alonzo, Joshua Flores, and Angelica Aranda.

Investigation showed the Manila Police District Special Mayor’s Reaction Team (MPD Smart) and the Bureau of Permits and Licenses Office conducted an entrapment operation against the suspects in an office located along Quezon Boulevard, Santa Cruz, Manila, where they had been producing the fake IDs.

Seized from the suspects were fake IDs, two computer sets and P100 used as marked money.

According to Re Fugoso, Manila Department of Social Welfare director, the department had been receiving fake senior citizens’ IDs especially when they are conducting data gathering activities for the monthly distribution of the senior citizens’ allowances.

Senior citizens are entitled to 20 percent discount on all goods and services provided they present IDs.

The suspects will be facing charges for violating Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) for falsification of documents and Article 176  of RPC for manufacturing and possession of instrument.
