‘Stranger Things’ Kids Have A Twitter War Over Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
by Brent FurdykAn imaginary reindeer led to a real-life disagreement between two “Stranger Things” stars and their fans are loving it.
It all started when Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin on Netflix’s supernatural hit, shared a video on Twitter in which he opines about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
“No one likes Rudolph, alright?” rants Matarazzo in that clip, hilariously putting on the persona of a disgruntled, complaining “Grandpa Gaten.” “He has a shiny nose, that’s all he’s got going for him.”
Matazzao’s Rudolph-bashing remarks did not go unnoticed by co-star Finn Wolfhard, who fired back in a video of his own.
“Happy Thanksgiving — American Thanksgiving, by the way,” began Wolfhard, a Vancouver native.
“Who do you think you are, trampling all over my favourite reindeer for Santy Claus?” responds Wolfhard, who plays Mike on the series.
“Number one, Rudolph has heart, and number two, that’s where he got his nose from, because he has so much love inside him,” he adds. “So the next time you want to call out my favourite reindeer, you can go crawl back into your weird cave where you worship Blitzen. Because we all know no one worships f**king Blitzen.”
While Matarazzo has yet to respond to his co-star, their reindeer ruckus sparked a Rudolph-related debate among their Twitter followers (most of whom sided with Wolfhard).
