An Alpine Village has come to the Trafford Centre - with Yorkshire pudding wraps, a Big Wheel and more

The family-friendly village features children's rides and huts selling festive food and drink

An Alpine Village has arrived at the Trafford Centre with a huge teepee, festive huts and more.

The village first appeared last year and was a big hit with families wanting to get in the Christmas spirit.

This time organisers say it's even better as there's the addition of the Big Wheel, which arrived for Halloween but is staying until next year.

The Alpine Village sells a range of 'tasty, seasonal treats', including Yorkshire pudding wraps, German bratwurst, halloumi fries, hot chocolate and mulled wine.

There's a Christmas chocolate factory for those sweet treats too and families can keep warm by the fire pit inside the huge tepee, which will host live music and entertainment.

Christmas Wreath Workshops are also running, with local florist Ixia Flowers, and these can be booked online here.   

The Alpine Village is situated outside the Great Hall, where there's a Victorian Carousel and the 55m-high Big Wheel, which offers 'magnificent views of the local area and intu Trafford Centre’s spectacular Christmas lights'.

Alison Niven, Centre Director at intu Trafford Centre, said: “The Alpine Village is a cosy, winter destination that is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.

"Indulge in a hot chocolate or mulled wine whilst enjoying entertainment by a warm fire - a perfect way to unwind whilst doing some Christmas shopping or enjoying a festive day out with the family.”

The Alpine Village is open from now until January 5. It opens 11am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 10am to 9pm Saturdays and 12pm to 6pm Sundays.

It'll open 9am to 5pm Christmas Eve, 9am to 8pm Boxing Day, 9am to 5pm New Year’s Eve and 12pm to 6pm New Year’s Day.

Other festive events and activities include the Peter Rabbit Christmas Grotto and don't forget the Upside Down House is still outside The Orient and has now had a festive makeover of its own.

The topsy-turvy attraction promises visitors 'a zero-gravity illusion experience in a safe and family friendly environment' and visitors are invited to let 'their imagination run riot as they capture the perfect photo'.

On the day tickets cost £5 per person (under threes go free). Advance tickets can be booked online for £3.50 weekdays or £4.50 weekends.
