Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Bala' races ahead of Sidharth Malhotra's 'Marjaavaan' at the box office

There seems to be no one stopping Ayushmann Khurrana as his recent release 'Bala' which is in its third week raced ahead of Sidharth Malhotra's 'Marjaavaan' at the box office. While both the films managed to do a substantial amount of collection this week, Ayushmann's comic caper which revolves around a man suffering from premature balding and how he tackles the situation which rise due to it.

According to the latest report on Boxofficeindia.com, Sidharth's film saw a drop of nearly 80 per cent but even then it went on to collect Rs 7.30 crore which took its total to Rs 44.45 crore as it had already raked in Rs 37.15 crore in its first week.

On the other hand, Ayushmann's film which also featured Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar managed to mint in another Rs 10.80 crore in its third week at the box office. With Rs 69.41 crore and Rs 25.84 crore, the film has now reached a stupendous total of Rs 106.05 crore and is expected to finish around Rs 110 crore by the trade experts. The Amar Kaushik directorial 'Bala' is also the eight highest-earning film of the year after 'Kabir Singh', 'War', 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', 'Housefull 4', 'Mission Mangal', 'Chhichhore' and 'Dream Girl'.

‘Bala’ marks Ayushmann's third consecutive 100-crore film after ‘Dream Girl’ and ‘Badhai Ho’ also raked in Rs 139 crore nett and Rs 134 crore nett respectively at the box office in India.
