
Lightning’s Stamkos to return from lower-body injury Friday vs. Capitals

Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper told reporters that the team’s captain is slated to return from a lower-body injury against the Washington Capitals on Friday.
Stamkos last suited up for the Lightning on Nov. 21, skating for just 5:17 in Tampa Bay’s 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks before getting hurt and leaving the game.
The native of Markham, Ont., has 20 points in 19 games this season, after posting a career-best 98-point effort in 2018-19.
