The winter season is often a danger zone when it comes to weight loss and motivation.

But there could be a painless yet effective way to lose a few pounds ahead of Christmas.

As it turns out that cutting just one thing from your diet could help you to shed those unwanted pounds.

According to research, ditching fizzy drinks can help you to lose weight much faster.

The Boston Public Health Commission found that drinking large amounts of sugary drinks increases the risk of weight gain, developing Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

They said: “Drinking just one 20-ounce bottle of a sugary beverage per day can result in gaining 25 extra pounds per year.”

Drinks that are sweetened with extra sugar have been shown to be linked to obesity in adults and children.

A whopping 93 per cent of research projects showed the positive correlation.

One study found that adults aiming to lose weight who cut out sugary drinks lost more weight than those who didn’t.

So there you have it - pour out the cola for a trimmer figure.

Adding fruit to water is a great way to sweeten your beverage in a natural, and healthier way.
